Huion HS611 pen tablet not working properly
Hello there, a few months ago I posted in the Redhat Bugzilla https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2279145 about my pen tablet suddenly not working, since then the situation changed a bit, the tablet is mostly working again.
Peter Hunterer oriented me to file an issue here. Since the files he asked me are in the bugzilla linked above, I'll not repost them here, unless you think it is better to repost them here. Also do you need me to re-record the tablet hid?
Now to contextualize the current situation, what is working and what is not?
- The pen is working as it should, except by one button
- The physical buttons some work, some doesn't
- Except for the touch strip, all touch buttons are working
- Gnome Settings kind of detects the tablet since de tablets panel appears, but it's says there are no tablets available. Before it would show options for the tablet tho it was kinda weird since it would display 2 different tablets with the same options.
There are some issues with the cursor, I believe it's a Wayland specific problem since in X11 it doesn't happen. The issues are:
- Double cursor: The mouse and the pen have its own cursor, sometimes the pen tablet cursor will disappear and the cursor with the last position of the mouse will stay still in that position, or the cursor will not appear at all for a few seconds. This only happens in Wayland as before mentioned.
- Interface freezes: Sometimes if I try to drag a window it will simply not let me click anything and I have to force my pc to restart.
I'm using Fedora Workstation 40, I remember reading Gnome 47 had some improvements in the pen tablet area, so maybe it is worth to wait to see if some issues go away by pure luck? Let me know! :))
Btw I tested Huion's driver it works but the buttons problem persists.
