Add a minor bend to the line when a node is connecting to itself on the same level

When in this state, it's really hard to decipher what the "strike through" is supposed to represent. If you add a minor bend to it, upwards or downwards, so that it clearly shows that it's looping onto itself, it would become a lot easier to understand at glance value.
