wip: enable gtk by default

Let's focus in using gtk here too.

Sorry for misleading Title. I'm testing the agent for 0.20 release and considered this MR for 0.21 release so I also gave it a quick try (because of the current hands on test) -- I'll improve commit log and double check the code too.
